The Colbert Report

Oct 10 2006

I recently contacted The Colbert Report to inquire about availability for a client of ours to be interviewed. This client is running for congress and would have fit perfectly into The Colbert Report “Better Know a District” segment. I had been thinking about contacting their talent producer for days before i actually tried to. I waited to try because i felt it would be really hard to get through to the proper person. When in fact it took me less than 30 minutes to find the right person and send them an e-mail. My procrastination probably cost my client from getting onto the show, because the same day i contacted them they aired the segment “Better Know a Challenger.” This is exactly the idea i had for my client, since he is the challenger in this race.

The moral of this story is just because you think a project or task may be hard to accomplish, you never know until you try. In my case it turned out to be really easy, but i waited too long to pick up the phone and make a few calls.

Establishing a Working Relationship

Oct 10 2006

Getting to know a potential business partner in an unfamiliar industry can be a daunting task. For business’ looking to hire a web design or technology fim they are often faced with trying to evaluate the skills of people who essentially speak a foriegn language and perform magic. Intelligent business people are left wondering what the hell programmers are talking about as soon as the try to delve into the details of a web designers skills or the work they did on past projects. Generally, business people won’t have the slightest idea what questions to ask to discern if a potential firm will be able to help. This is of course not their fault, they should not be expected to understand the arcane knowledge that fills a programmers mind or have the years of experience and training of a skilled visual designer.

So how can a business person go about finding and working with programmers and designers if they don’t understand what these skilled professionals do? They can look for ones that know how to interact with business people. Every web site or design is unique and should be, in order to meet the unique needs of the client. Good programmers and designers will take time before launching into building something to understand what you do and explain what they will do. If that isn’t a part of your project then you are taking one hell of a risk that your project will be off target and the results disappointing.

Crash Ads Launches

Sep 19 2006

Crash Ads is our latest venture. We’re working with truckers and advertisers to place billboards on the sides of semi trailers. Crash Ads works with both independent operators and fleets and matches them up with advertisers who need to get their message out.

You can learn more at www.CrashAds.com.

We’re excited about this project, we think it’s a winning prospect for all parties, the truckers can earn extra money to defray rising gasoline costs (semis get crummy mileage) and advertisers get their message in front of tons of people on roads around the country for a reasonable cost. If you are a trucker, fleet operator, or advertiser please check out Crash Ads and get in touch with us.

Henry Ford HealthCore Launches

May 15 2006

We’re proud to announce the official launch of our largest project to date - Henry Ford HealthCore’s eCommerce site. The site is built to using web standards, is handicapped accessible, and is easy to use. It is one of the first eCommerce sites to accept both credit cards and commercial insurance or Medicare as payment for products. HealthCore is a division of Henry Ford Health System, one of the biggest hospital systems in Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

Useful Features

Reorder Reminders - The site emails customers when it is time to get more of their disposable products such as diabetes test strips. This helps improve both repeat sales and customer health.

Accepting Insurance and Medicare - HealthCore is one of the first companies to allow customers to bill the commercial insurance (HAP, Blue Cross, etc.) or Medicare for their products. We’ve done our best to walk people through entering their information off of hard to read insurance cards and streamlined the reorder process so they don’t have to enter their information more than once.

The Future

This site allows customers with or without insurance or those using the new health savings accounts (HSAs) to purchase products online and have them delivered to their door. The flexibility in purchasing and the ability to find products and compare prices online is new in the home medical products industry and will help to bring down prices and improve service for customers who are trying to deal with the rising cost of healthcare. Adding an eCommerce system will help reduce HealthCore’s cost of doing business over time, keeping the company healthy and prosperous moving forward.

The Importance of Not Being Selfish

Apr 30 2006

It’s hard to believe that in two weeks, my son will be a year old. My wife and I agree that becoming parents has caused us to take a hard look at ourselves. In doing so, negative traits (though I have few) usually have something to do with selfishness. You know, remembering what our mothers taught us is a great way to approach business. The way we wish to raise our children absolutely applies to how we conduct ourselves in the professional world.

I recently attended a SixSigma, or Total Quality Management, training session in Santa Barbara, California. I learned about the continual process of improvement. During this time, I experienced a new awareness of just how important it is to truly understand what the customer wants, and then to give it to them as they expected and as you promised. It’s the whole “my word is my bond” thing, with a lot of controls and innovation thrown in.

Kevin Hall, the founder of Infinite Web Design, has for some reason (kidding) seen value in my proposition that we partner up our businesses as two small fish in the internet’s very big pond. After asking if he would join Infynite LLC and allow me to outsource work to his company, I was stunned when he casually said, “Sure, it sounds good to me.” We had just met over the phone. Kevin’s response contained a measure of faith and though both of our companies were offering web application design services, he decided not to be selfish and guarded. I admire that in a person.

So, while this is one small step for us, it’s one giant leap for our new and existing customers. We are refining our processes and improving the very core of how we conduct business. It’s not the revenue that’s so important, but the relationships and reputations we build along the way. By helping each other and especially our clients, we will build momentum and create opportunities for our companies.

Online Credit Card Processing….HELP!

Apr 05 2006

I truly enjoy going through my bookmarks everyday and cycling through the few blogs that stay interesting day after day. I know that we don’t post as often as we should, but we are working on it and we could use your help.

I have been researching merchant accounts for online credit card processing. This seems like a fairly simple task with the overwhelming number of companies out there specializing in this. Unfortunately, the sheer number of companies out there with poorly designed websites makes this research process rather tedious. So, I am asking for your help; the semi-loyal or even first time reader of our little blog. I need to find the most affordable online credit card processing solution that can be fully integrated into our websites seamlessly.

If you work for the company that can do this, or just know of one that can; we want to hear about it. If you just want to complain about online credit card processing we’ll listen to that too. But mostly we are hoping you, our valued reader, can starting pull your weight around here and contribute.

URL’s welcome. The results will be posted with a link to what we are using it for.

Feb 15 2006

We’re pleased to announce that out first client, Chase Nedrow, has rolled out a brand new site. Gone are the tables of 2000. Replacing it is sleeker code, a refreshed design, and some up to date content. The site is still small, but it serves their online needs and that is the goal of any website large or small. We’re happy to have had the opportunity to work with them on this redesign.s ringtones 70pink aerosmith mp3 ringtoneschildren all my ringtonesringtone akonbrothers allman band ringtonesringtones 6315iaccapella ringtone beatboxsouth barrington amc30 Maploans construction new georgia home$6000 get online loan aget payday loan onlineset motor get loansrussia loans getting inloans gfeloan girv good loans sam Map

Net Neutrality and Short Sightedness

Feb 08 2006

Google’s Vincent Cerf testified before Congress on the issue of Net Neutrality. His testimony is well reasoned and insightful. It is available as a PDF file. I recommend that everyone read it and think long and hard about this issue. It affects everyone who uses the Internet. There is a push by companies that own networks to try to determine what content moves over that network. Mr. Cerf makes the argument against this quite eloquently so I won’t try to duplicate it. However, I would like to emphsize a few points that he doesn’t hammer home as much as I would like.

When the network providers (the cable and phone companies) pick what Internet content flows across the network it interferes with free speech. This is really a 1st Amendment issue. The phone company has never been allowed to provide better service to people that say things they agree with or that call the right people. Yes, they own the network, but at the same time there are some public good issues here that trump that.

Network Neutrality is vital to ongoing innovation and invention on the Internet. Giving preferential treatment to content from one place over another as it travels through the network destroys the democratic, free spirit of the Web. The web is currently an open, free marketplace of ideas, information, and services. It should remain that way.clips long sex moviemature movies beastmovie mature milffood movies messy sexfucking milf moviesmilf sample moviesmovie nude rogers mimimovies monster dildo Mapcredit and tax adhd disabilitycredit auto 411 directcredit group consulting griffin 2007aaa travel credit miles air carddermatology accreditedholder credit merchant account card coloradohomeschooling schools accreditedin coaching life diploma accredited Maptommy the movievoyeur movies sexporn gay movies xxxanal trailers movie sexmovie teen anothertheory auteur movie directorsbisexual movies pornmovie blade tattoos Mapporn me eat outeating out porneatting out pornebn pornporn ebonicporn ebony aanalebony anal pornbeastiality porn ebony Mapplyphonic free ringtonesreal free ringtones for verizondownloading free program ringtonemp3 ringtone s freefor cricket phones ringtone sites freefree my on guitar ringtone teardrops17 free ringtonesand download free ringtones Mapus cellular for motorola ringtoneringtone changing v550 caller motorolaringtone mp3 composerringtones for mobile mp3ringtones a mp3 m1 on sanyomusic music ringtonesgirl little my ringtoneringtones wolff nat Mapsalary administration manager loansalie ma loansparent loan mae sallie student plusloan mae parent sallycollateral day same loansproposal business loan samplespecialist resume sample loandiego business san loan county Map
